Hello I’m John McKeon and am honored to be your 2015 Dara president. After working the past few years with current and past DARA board members, I’ve found everyone to be very professional, knowledgeable and a great group to learn from. As a smaller landlord that got into this business a few years ago as an investment and a way to better prepare for retirement, I am always looking to learn and to provide the best rental experience to my tenants. Dara has been a tremendous educational vehicle for myself. In return I intend to stay connected and help other landlords as needed. I believe that DARA has and will continue to make a positive impact on the community. I am a long time resident of DeKalb with my wife Shelly and two grown children Travis and Kasidi, whom also both reside in DeKalb.
It’s my goal to stay connected with the community by staying informed by continuing to attending City Council and other meetings that affect property owners of all types within our community. I also intend to keep up with the regulatory activity that has been ongoing within our industry. We will continue to have informative educational speakers at our quarterly meetings pertaining to topics that affect each and every one of us. I look forward to meeting and working with you.
